Before you pack your wardrobe for shifting, you should:

1. Look in your wardrobe closely:

Making an evaluation is the initial thing you should do before packing your wardrobe for a move. It’s simple to overlook how many clothes we own. And once you start removing them, you can quickly realize that you don’t have enough boxes. Knowing what you are working with is crucial when purchasing goods and packing. Handing all the clothing in front of you is the finest approach to go about it. You will then get a clear picture. You will also be able to choose what you require against what you do not.

Making decisions now that everything is in front of you. Selecting the clothing you wish to preserve is necessary. All of us tend to keep clothes we no longer wear. Either due to their outdated style. Or because they are broken or too tiny. The right moment to organize your clothes is right now. Maintain only what you need.

You must first divide your clothing into three heaps. One that is full of things you’ll unquestionably desire to have. The clothing that is of decent quality but that you don’t wish to maintain should be put in the second. The clothing that needs to be thrown away goes into the third pile.

3. Remove, sort, and pack your clothing:

You have a wonderful opportunity when you move to arrange and tidy your clothing and other possessions. Spend some time organizing your closet by placing your clothing in piles marked “sell,” “donate,” “recycle,” “keep,” and “bin.” Keep in mind to pack the clothes (and other necessities) you’ll require while your wardrobe is in shipment; a simple suitcase will do.

Because of this, think about buying a wardrobe box or asking your moving company if they can offer one for you if you require a wardrobe for your clothes when you do not possess one, such as if you have a dress that must always be hung.

4. The empty wardrobe is dusted and cleaned:

No matter how well-organized your closet was, with time some dust will have gathered in it. Wipe your wardrobe thoroughly, if only to prevent choking on dust when transferring it.

A wooden wardrobe should not be cleaned with all-purpose cleaning products. Instead, use a brush, wooden cleaner, or a little water and soap to remove stubborn dirt; it’s usually not a good idea to use water to clean wood.

You aren’t interested in bringing old dander and dirt into a new house, after all.

5. Take out the drawers, shelves, and other removable parts:

Remove the removable components of your wardrobe to prevent them from flying around and being damaged while being transported.

You can pack these in a regular cardboard box, but keep in mind to safeguard each part by wrapping it in bubble wrap and other layers of protection. You can use a tiny quantity of tape to hold the bubble wrap in place, but you should avoid putting the tape exactly on the component as this may result in damage.

You should take off any closet doors that are mirrored or otherwise sensitive. Pay attention to your manufacturer’s advice before you start because this will rely on the design of your wardrobe. When the doors are off, place substantial cardboard parts over any glass in the wardrobe before wrapping the entire door in bubble wrap. Packing paper or moving blankets can be added as an additional layer of safety.

6. If necessary, take your wardrobe apart:

You can omit this stage if your wardrobe isn’t too big and can be relocated fairly easily; however, please make sure you put the proper safety in place as described below.

On the other hand, if your wardrobe is awkward or slides, you must take this step. Ask your removal company whether they can take care of this task for you; if you choose experienced movers, they will have the tools and knowledge needed to disassemble and relocate your wardrobe.

If you can handle it yourself, consult your wardrobe’s instruction manual to learn the best way to disassemble it. To remember how to put everything back together on the other side, our best advice is to snap pictures before and throughout each step of the disassembly process. To keep them secure, you should also make sure that nails, nuts, bolts, and other small pieces are put into a tagged, sealable bag.

7. Time to prepare your wardrobe for the move:

It’s time to pack your clothes for relocation once you’ve determined which items you want to bring. It’s crucial to have a strategy. And to be aware of your actions. You can move out of your entire house in one day if you are well-organized. Not to mention your clothes. As a result, develop a solid plan and begin packing each thing individually. You’ll be ready for the move in no time.

8. Before you pack your clothes, wash them:

Not washing clothes before packing is an error that many people make. If you combine clean and dirty garments, you’ll have to wash everything in the final stages. And it could be a little challenging when you simply shift into the new house.

9. Pack your wardrobe in standard moving boxes before shifting:

If they were any bigger, they might have broken at the bottom. Additionally, you can purchase moving boxes made specifically for clothing. They include coat racks. For those more costly things, and are ideal. Sort your clothing by supplies or seasons. Or however, you see fit. But make sure the boxes have labels. It will expedite and simplify the unpacking procedure. Additionally, you’ll understand precisely where to look if you’re in a hurry.
