1: Undo The Appliances:-

Make sure you have already disconnected the electronic appliances from their switch. Most of the moving companies are very clear in terms of electronic appliances. They do not lay their hands on anything risky like a gas cylinder or thick wires or open wires. So, do hire professionals from the electronics shop from where you had purchased those things to undo it. They are well trained concerning that and do it quickly with the least risk. Make sure you get it done a week in advance or when it’s about essentials like fridge, get it undone at least 3 days in advance.

2: Defrost Well:-

Defrosting the refrigerator may not seem like an important thing or you may even forget it, it’s that small a thing to consider. But it is the most essential part. It reduces the weight of the consignment and hence the cost to ship it as well as it doesn’t mess all your belongings by letting the melted ice escape while the goods are in the course of transportation. The best time to defrost the fridge is a day before despatch. If you defrost it immediately before moving, it will be of no use. Clean your gas stove in advance at least a day before moving. If it’s wet, dry it up with a cloth. Remove all its burner and other things to avoid any damage in the process of transportation. Also, remove the cylinder connection and make sure you have already turned off your gas stove. It is risky as well as wrong. If you don’t know or are doubtful about it, please call your gas connection provider to help you out. Be cautious while doing it! Also once you reach your destination place, do have a servicing done. It is important to avoid any kind of damage done to your gas stove or cylinder in the process.

5: Keep The Chords Together:-

The most essential yet untold part of the relocation. Keep all your cords handy in a bag which you can easily access. Whether it’s as small as a charger USB or a thick wire of your gas connection. Keep it all stacked together in a bag. It not just makes things easy for you but also keeps you relaxed and organized. To avoid the mixing up of these wires fix their plugs with the wires and put a tape on it. And keep in mind that the chords which cannot be taken out like a fridge’s cord, you stick it with tape on it. If it is loose and is hanging then, it may stop working later. To avoid messing up at your new home, do take care of such little things.
